Easily located and good location. Not too far from the strip and they have a good shuttle service. Room was fine, no issues. I am guessing that because of the low price rooms that this hotel/casino draws a large demographic from senior citizens and families on a budget. There was noticeble amount of large foreign travel parties together also. This in of itself is no problem except that it may not be the ambience some Vegas travelers are looking for. Casino was clean and food court was filled with kids running everywhere. I went to the pool once. It is fairly small and was filled with kids splashing and playing so not much "relaxation" in or around the pool.. Liked the Dunkins though and had a great meal at the steak house. The front desk people were great as was the hotel and securiity staff. Was just passing through on business so didn't play the games much but the casino floor was clean and well lit with many machines. It would be a good place to stay for families looking for a launching spot to see the sites around Vegas/Mead/G. Canyon, ect.

I visit Vegas at least once a year since my mother lives there and I ALWAYS stay at Sam's Town. Now, I could save my money and camp out at my mom's place, which is 2 blocks away from Sam's, but I prefer to stay at the casino! There are so many things to do and I think the food is wonderful! I always eat at Firelight Buffet, TGI Fridays, and the Deli. The portions are great and the prices are very reasonable! I'm usually in Vegas "on a budge!", but Sam's is a great place to be if your funds are limited! I love the Bingo hall and I usually win on the nickel slots enough to play Bingo all day!!! Of course, there is the movie theatre, arcade, I bring my son with me on some trips, and the HUGE bowling alley! I love the live Keno and of course I've walked across the street a time or two to go to the Wal-Mart!! Housekeeping is very friendly and have always done a great job keeping my room neat and tidy! The workers are ALWAYS friendly and I feel at home when I'm there. I've been to Vegas several times and have gone to the main strip and the old one also for that matter, I went to the Fremont Experience, but I like Sam's Town because it is nowhere near the main strip! But, of course there is a free shuttle if you want to go to the strip. I was here in May for about a week this year, but I will be back in August and this time I'm staying for 2 weeks!!

This was my first time in vegas so I should have stayed closer to the strip. you will have to get your money up for travel BACK AND FORTH TO THE STIP. i spent alot doing that. I have been to better rooms in motels and the resturants...the food was either mediocre or in one particular resturant in the hotel it was too high. The buffet was pretty good. they had all these signs up about how they have won awards for best winning slot machines. I GAMBLE and when i tell you those were some of the tightest machines I ever played I mean it. I wasnt looking to get rich I play nickel machines!!!! And finally, if country western themes are not your cup of tea, steer clear!!!! I was up to my eye balls in wood panel, aztec art, cowboy hats and wild buffalo skeletons on the walls. They did have a beautiful glass elevator and the staff was superb. I wouldnt say dont go because if your like me, I went cheap on hotel so I could do everything else but if food and good gambling and SOME entertainment is what your looking for............go somewhere else.

Had a horrible experience at Excalibur and we had a 9 year old and 15 year old with us so wanted to do SOMETHING kid friendly. (Excalibur is NOT kid friendly like they advertise and that is where we stayed). Since we ended up getting a rental car because the Shuttle and cab services were outrageous on the Strip, we went to Sam's Town just for the day and LOVED it. We had WISHED we stayed there instead of Excalibur. LOTS of things for the kids to do and reasonable prices. Our kids enjoyed a first run movie at the theater while we had a great very GOOD and great priced lunch at TGI Friday's with VERY nice employees who were GLAD you came (not like the horrid employees at Excalibur). Although it was a SATURDAY (busy day) TGIFriday's offered us half price appetizers and even some drink specials. We were delightfully surprised because the casinos on the Strip had been ripping all customers off the entire trip even for bottled water! Atrium was gorgeous, kids were thrilled to eat McDonald's after the movie, arcade was nice but we didn't have time to let the kids play. They were also too full for an ice cream but the prices were GREAT. Wished we had stayed there. We overheard other guests mention a bowling alley but we did not go to it. If we were staying there, that would be yet another child friendly place/activity we would have enjoyed. With the economy on the downturn, people cannot afford to travel much at all. Therefore, businesses SHOULD and MUST appreciate their customers and not try to wrench every penny out of their pocket. Sam's Town was the ONLY place in Las Vegas where we felt appreciated and welcome.

Friend of mine and I decided to do a 2 day trip but didnt want to pay to stay on the strip we paid for 2 nights at only * total. If you dont mind driving yourself up to the strip #40its about 10 minutes#41 or taking a cab its really a very comfortable place to stay really cool decor I thought would totally stay again if I drove back up from AZ again.
