The main tower at Palace Station might be a three star rated hotel but they have a dark secret. It's called the "Courtyard". If you booked your accomadations on a travel web site you stand a good chance of getting put up in the Courtyard. It's outback across the alley behind the parking structure. The rooms are dark and dingy and overlook trash and dusty asphalt. When I checked in I had trouble even finding the "Courtyard". When I finally found my way outback I spent 5 minutes hauling my bags through the halls looking for an elevator as I had a 2nd floor room. I finally realized that the even though it was a 2 story building it had no elevators. Not a big problem but still an oddity in this age when even small motels often have elevators. I lugged my bags up a flight of stairs and finally located my room in the large spread-out structure only to find a depressing dark room overlooking a dirty alley and the back side of a parking structure. I've since read other reviews of the Palace Station and have seen similar comments regarding the Courtyard. Some of the reviews state how they complained to management and were upgraded to better rooms that "suddenly materialized" in the main tower. It seems Place Station management has a policy of shuffling people off to these substandard accomadations and begrudgingly dole out their better rooms only if the guests complain. I don't want to have to play these games to get a decent room. If my discounted room is out back across the alley, tell me up front. If you decide to book a room at the Palace Station be sure to get assurances it's not in the "Courtyard".

This hotel is the only place we stay in Vegas. It is the best value in the city. The rooms are always clean and the rooms are as well appointed as more expensive hotels. As to the negative reviews, you get what ou pay for. No, the pool isn't as awesome as Mandalay Bay, but for 1/4 the price, go to a water park. PALACE STATION ROCKS!

Was worried after reading some of the bad reviews, but we just finished a good stay during Easter week. Expect the "Amenity Fee" ($*-$*/night), and we followed advice and booked a Tower Room for $* more/night. Highly, highly recommend that. Great view of mountains to the north, room was nice. Lacked a tub-only had a shower, but it was a nice tile one. Not the biggest room, but clean, staff was nice to us, check-in a bit slow. Not a ton of gaming tables. Pool wasn
